Active Citizen & 5th Grade Students go to the Colorado State Capitol!

May 1, 2015

The entire 5th grade class of Indian Ridge Elementary went to the State Capitol to hear the Colorado House vote on our resolution - HJR15-1025, which designates May 1st as Children's Health Day in Colorado.

The Active Citizen students have been working towards this achievement for over a year, and were very excited to go to the Capitol and have the opportunity to witness the vote. This bill was co-sponsored by Rep. Rhonda Fields (D) and Rep. Jack Tate (R). We were lucky enough to watch this happen in the the State House, and we showed a video to the Representatives in the house.  (Click to see the video
